CALL US:

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
AND
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Community involvement and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) have been some of The Medical City (TMC) South Luzon’s strengths since 2019 under the leadership of its President and CEO, Dr. Cesar Ramon G. Espiritu. Not only has TMC South Luzon established an extraordinarily strong tie with the local government, making it a major COVID-19 referral center in the city of Santa Rosa and one of the first private hospitals certified as a vaccination site for COVID-19, but TMC South Luzon has continuous CSR efforts that extend to other cities and towns of the CALABARZON region as well.

Corporate Social Responsibility

CSR has been ingrained in TMC South Luzon’s brand of healthcare since Dr. Espiritu served as President and CEO. Under his leadership, TMC South Luzon’s doctors, allied medical staff, and other health workers initiated CSR activities such as:

  • The Medical City South Luzon Eye Center’s Balik-Linaw, a FREE Cataract screening service since late 2019, that extends to as far as remote towns of Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas;
  • The tie-up with Mabuhay Deseret Foundation for Cataract Surgery patients since 2020, which provides affordable, and subsidized Cataract Surgeries for qualified individuals; and
  • The donation drive for the victims of the Taal Volcano Eruption in January 2020, typhoon and flood calamities, and other community outreach programs including Christmas gift-giving to members of marginalized communities.

Community Engagement

TMC South Luzon also expanded its reach via community and corporate partnerships with its offerings of onsite COVID-19 vaccination, COVID-19-related diagnostic tests, and Annual Physical Examination services.

This is complemented by the Home Care Program, and Mobile Clinic services, as well as virtual (online) consultation. These programs generated favorable responses from TMC South Luzon partners and provided an additional revenue stream.

Another activity for corporate partners was TMC South Luzon’s 1st Friendship Cup on February 4, 2023. The golf event ended successfully, and was able to achieve its purpose of engaging the corporate, loyal partners, and friends, and at the same time continue its social relevance to the community by raising funds for the event beneficiary.

Committed to a healing environment.

As one of the biggest hospitals in CALABARZON, TMC South Luzon has a mission to provide compassionate, ethical, and efficient healthcare through continuous innovations and excellence in medical services.

Togetherness and shared values with their communities are among the cornerstones of TMC South Luzon’s growth and development. Several Asian healthcare organizations such as the following have recognized these efforts with the awards given to TMC South Luzon:

  • Hospital Management Asia (HMA 2022), which awarded TMC South Luzon for Community Involvement;
  • Healthcare Asia Awards (HCA 2021), which declared TMC South Luzon as a winner for its Service Delivery Innovation Initiative of the Year and Employee Engagement Initiative of the Year; and
  • Healthcare Asia Awards (HCA 2022), which again recognized TMC South Luzon as the Secondary Hospital of the Year and winner for its Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Program.

All of these are testaments of TMC South Luzon’s commitment to its promise of being one of the most trusted names in Southern Luzon and beyond.

As aptly stated by Dr. Cesar Ramon G. Espiritu, “these initiatives, which brought TMCSL care beyond our borders and into the homes and workplaces of the community we are serving, shall continue and expand to areas we can reach here in the region and abroad.”
