WITH A THEME: MOVING FORWARD TO BETTER WAYS OF ACCESSING HEALTHCARE
These past two years have been challenging for the country’s health system. Despite all the difficulties that The Medical City (TMC) South Luzon has encountered – from the shortage of healthcare workers, challenges in keeping the facility safe for both its healthcare staff and patients, to keeping its finances afloat – TMC South Luzon did not only survive but also thrived amidst these adversities. The COVID-19 pandemic gave TMC South Luzon opportunities to strengthen its connection with the communities and partner companies by providing them with a wide range of healthcare services that are more accessible, reliable, and safe.
As TMC South Luzon commemorates its 14th anniversary this October, it opens four (4) new Centers of Excellence and new services to further serve its patient partners, communities, and accredited companies with quality, specialized, and safe healthcare services that are easily accessible. The new additions to TMC South Luzon’s Centers of Excellence include the Kidney and Stone Center, HIV Treatment Hub, ENT Center, and Neuro-Critical Care Program.
TMC South Luzon’s Kidney and Stone Center features the latest technology and equipment for the treatment of kidney stones and is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
The ENT Center houses the group of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck specialists and their equipment for diagnosis and intervention all under one roof. TMC South Luzon is also part of The Medical City’s Triple Hub (with TMC Ortigas and TMC Clark) which aims to deliver the fast intervention to brain attack patients. The HIV Treatment Hub, on the other hand, addresses the growing needs for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of HIV patients in the region.
In addition to the aforementioned Centers of Excellence, TMC South Luzon’s new Blood Bank, can now immediately process blood transfusion requirements making their surgery procedures seamless, donor-convenient, and faster. The opening of its Molecular Laboratory will now make available results for specialized laboratory tests including RT-PCR within 24 hours at lower costs.
TMC South Luzon is launching the new Centers of Excellence and its Molecular Laboratory on October 22, 2021, while the Blood Bank will be operational before the end of the year. A simple blessing of the new centers and service units marks the formal inauguration with inspirational messages coming from TMC South Luzon and The Medical City Main’s management team.
“True to The Medical City South Luzon’s vision of providing its patient partners with quality-driven healthcare services, we are opening new centers of excellence and serving new specialized services that cater to the needs of our target population here in Southern Luzon. These are additions to the continuing service we provide to address the needs for care and treatment of COVID-19 patients and to the population who seek safe and quality healthcare service delivery such as Home Service, Mobile Clinic, Virtual Doctors’ Consultation while staying at their homes.
All these will continue beyond the 14 years of TMC South Luzon in our pursuit as a leader in healthcare,” says Dr. Cesar Ramon G. Espiritu, President, and CEO of TMC South Luzon.
